Stony Brook Acupuncture For Tinnitus: A Drug Free Solution To Ringing Ears

smithtown acupuncture for tinnitus and ringing in the ears

When a new patient comes into the clinic with Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) as their chief complaint, its time to put on the ole thinking cap. Everyone’s tinnitus is different. In acupuncture school we were taught to ask whether the ringing is high pitched or low pitched. In TCM style acupuncture (the predominate style taught in acupuncture schools) high pitched tinnitus is usually attributed to some pathology of the Liver and low pitched tinnitus is attributed the Kidneys.

When we look through a more meridian (channel) focused lens, we tend to seek out imbalances with the the main channels that go to the ear, those being the Small Intestine, The Gall Bladder and the Triple Energizer channels. Other channels go to the ear as well. One such channel is the large intestine channel, which goes to the ear through one of its 4 branches (the Luo channel). So the challenge is to figure out which of these acupuncture channels are contributing to your specific tinnitus symptoms.

Our Tinnitus Treatment Approach with Acupuncture

At Humanity Acupuncture in Stony Brook, NY. we take tinnitus acupuncture treatment to the next level with AcuGraph technology — a breakthrough method that measures and visualizes your body’s energy flow. Using our state-of-the-art AcuGraph diagnostic system, we can accurately identify the areas of energy imbalance contributing to your tinnitus. This enables us to design a highly personalized acupuncture treatment plan that targets your specific imbalances for effective tinnitus relief.

AcuGraph technology offers a real-time visualization of your body’s energy pathways. By using this innovative system, we can identify the precise areas where energy is disrupted, allowing us to tailor our treatments with unmatched accuracy.

After measuring your 12 channels utilizing the electro-conductivity of your skin at specific acupuncture points, we will generate a bar graph which will show, using precise energy mapping, exactly where your energy is flowing well, where it is blocked or imbalanced, where there is too little, and where there is too much. With AcuGraph acupuncture, I utilize the individualized information from your scan, and then put together a treatment plan that allows me to optimally balance your energy at at your foundational level.

Case Study: Patient With Tinnitus Following A Root Canal

Recently I had a patient who was a real interesting case study involving one very important cause of tinnitus… the teeth. They had been having high pitched tinnitus for the past 5-6 weeks. When I first examined their intake form, I noticed some things that stood out right away. They had a scar that cut across their Lung & Large intestine channels. This is important because scars can drain the energy (or cause miscommunication) in the channel or channels they cut across. Even superficial scars can cause issues.

Secondly, they had a history of asthma (Lung Channel). In addition, they presented with neck pain in the region of the scalene muscles (Large intestine channel) The scalene muscles are also secondary muscles of respiration, most likely overworked & aggravated from the asthma.

The kicker was that the patient had had a root canal 5-6 weeks prior (the exact time period the tinnitus started). Let me first explain that every tooth in your mouth connects energetically to at least 2 acupuncture channels, with the exception being the wisdom teeth which have 4 channels that go to each of them. Your teeth are NOT dead matter, they act like circuit breakers in your bodies bio-electrical system. Very much like your homes electrical circuitry. Once they get tripped or blown, the voltage in the channel goes down and symptoms arise (like inflammation). The patients root canal was a tooth that connects with their lung & large intestine channels.

When I ran an AcuGraph scan (which scientifically measures the life-force in the 12 main acupuncture channels) I immediately saw what I was expecting to see. This patients Lung Channel was deficient and The Large Intestine channel (the Lung’s paired channel) was EXCESS.

I proceeded to treat the acupuncture points related to that specific tooth where the root canal was performed. I then calmed down the large intestine channel and gave more energy to the lung Channel. I also made sure to treat the patients scar (to free it up energetically).

Following the second treatment, the patient awoke the next morning with 100% relief from the tinnitus.

This is the reason I ask patients on their intake form if they have any root canals, tooth extractions or dental issues. This is very useful information, as the teeth are way more important than we’ve been told.

If you or someone you care about is suffering from Tinnitus, don’t hesitate to call, email or book an appointment. I am here to help and I love helping people so they can get back to living!
